Given the flurry of recent hype around AI in the hospitality space, we at Nom Menu want to share our thoughts on how AI-powered tech must dovetail with the human touch in luxury contexts, and what we’re building to accomplish this delicate balance.

AI in Luxury Hospitality

Amidst all the present AI hype, and as a company that provides AI-enabled hospitality technology, we feel that it’s especially important to re-emphasize that in hospitality, humans are the true magic. Tech that can personalize and curate is important, but only when used in conjunction with highly-skilled concierges. 

Our team spent 7 months working closely with the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. In that time, we learned how to design tech solutions that interface beautifully with the goals of luxury hospitality, which is all about anticipatory service and personal touches. However, at scale, these can be very hard for even the most skilled team to execute consistently. 

We believe that it’s the onus of a technology partner, not the hotel operator, to demystify AI and cobble together how to effectively use it. As such, we’ve designed our products to be easy to use and refreshingly simple. You shouldn’t have to tangle through the weeds of figuring out how to leverage AI - we’ve already done that.

AI can help personalize the guest experience at luxury hotels, but must work in conjunction with concierges.

Nom Menu meets AI

The goal of our digital platform is to help operators achieve “scalable personalization,” using predictive analytics and our guest engagement tools to curate stays and present guests with offerings you know they’ll enjoy. We’ve just launched a new smart filters feature that places this control in the guests’ hands, letting them craft and discover their own experiences at your property. For example, a guest is going to engage with different elements of your property based on the type of party they’re traveling with - a couple with kids will seek out different activities on a family trip than they would when vacationing alone. Concierges are easily able to help point guests in the right direction, but current digital guest interfaces aren’t intuitively able to. Nom Menu’s Smart Filters feature allows guests to discover activities that fit the atmosphere they’re seeking without having to click through pages of PDFs. 

Over time and across stays, our platform will learn more and make predictions about the nuanced preferences of your guests, and can consolidate them for your concierge team to take action on.
